A Little Bit of Sweetness

sporting a "little" bling today for school

little fashionista
self portrait...little cutie pie
what happens when a 4yr old is manning the camera (yes, it was cleaning day)

my beautiful nectarine tree....the promise of fruit this year

who could resist this sweet little mug.....she makes sure we have our daily dose of fresh air, stretching of limbs and time for contemplation while she chases her rabbit friends.

Took a little different approach today to portray a portion of our day via photos.  "A picture is worth a thousand words"

Getting Back to It

The "it" is the challenge. The concept of blogging I like, as I love to journal. Well, love/hate is more accurate. The pressure to have something to say overwhelms on most occasions. I started a written journal again this year to track my progress on my never ending list of life goals, challenges for self growth, etc. I shall not begin to divulge the past two months or the past year as a forum to catch up. I'm sure pieces shall pop in the days ahead, but for now my focus is free form self expression. To write for 15 minutes a day. To accept that I don't have to be perfect or have it all figured out to start something. If it doesn't go as planned...oh well. Shake it off and keep going!

Two of the focuses for this month.
Work Smart- Not overlooking how much can be accomplished in 15min or even 1min. Visually breaking my day in to segments to keep me from over-committing, getting overwhelmed and staying organized.
Enjoy Now- Focus on bringing more energy, creativity, and efficiency to my home, my family and the development of my daughter.

The Crack of an Egg

This morning was an early one. 3:45am. As I struggled awake to the request of cereal thinking it was at least 5am. After cereal was consumed, we sat in bed and read about Pooh and Piglet building a house for Eeyore. We were partially into the story and the house shifted, as they all do. K asks "What was that sound?". I reply "It was the house cracking". After a few moments of thought, "Oh, maybe eggs will come out!"

The beauty of the cactus

Although we currently reside in a desert, we couldn't resist the opportunity to explore another desert state. If for nothing else, to see a BIG cactus. We spent a relaxing four days checking out a portion of Arizona. We dined in Glendale at one of Dennis' finds from the show Diners Drive-ins and Dives, La Piazza Al Forno. It was a quaint little place...very glad we chose to go during the lunch hour. It would have been a stretch for Kennedy. As it was her dining choices were limited and she ended up picking everything off her pizza for an end result of cheese pizza. D and I loved the gourmet aspect of it all.

We had a beautiful hike in Chandler. It was breathtaking to see God's splendour in such an arid environment.

We spent a half day wandering about Scottsdale checking out the shops. We found a place much to Kennedy's liking that served hot dogs. She was thrilled.

Cookies and Music

A few days ago Girl Scout cookies arrived in our home. A family friend, Kylie, was selling them for her troop. For the consecutive days following, Kennedy wanted to know why Kylie was a baker.

On another note, Kennedy never passes up the opportunity to play a musical instrument. This morning at church, Kennedy sat down at the piano and informed me that she was going to play and sing Twinkle Little Star. She proceeded to wiggle her fingers and flex them over the keys before starting her performance.

It is so rewarding to see the small and big changes that occur daily!

the spirit of the season... a little delayed

Okay! So, I chose to start this season a little on the slow side.. pick your battle Feng Shui is my suite... how can you resist this mug?? We are having a wonderful year! Trying to focus on the important stuff and tuning out what can wait a while....... Obviously, our focus has been on monkey girl with the helmet....she loves her "hello kitty" bike from Santa and wants to ride it everywhere. That has not changed since birth...if there are wheels or gadgets involved... Miss K must conquer!

Okay...so I was a little optimist. I have tried to "handle" time and it still gets away from me. I am still in the discovery process. I love the ride..but get lost in it. I am still searching for myself... I am discovering that I am becoming a better person...I hope that you can all wait to see who I become on the other side.
